Student Success Center

The Student Success Center is like a one-stop-shop for every Business student, we house Recruitment, Academic Records, Career Coaching, Advising. You know, with Academic Advising, that's kind of the person that guides you through your academics throughout your entire journey.

And then you have your Career Coaches that are there to help when you start looking for internships, or an Executive Mentor, who are our corporate partners. Sometimes alumni from K-State who can also kind of help guide you through kind of their experience here and then also, you know, when you look to get a full-time job.

So if you've come to K-State and you don't know exactly what you want to do, the Career Accelerator course kind of helps with that. If you have interests or you know, what you'd like to do, it kind of aligns you with the career that has the same path. And the people they're like, they got your back, they care.

I think it's unique in the sense that all of us that are Career Coaches in the College of Business have the industry background from our particular area. For example, you know, my background, I worked for a CPA firm for 25 years, and I'm the Accounting Career Coach. So my job is to help students in the accounting program understand what they can do with an Accounting degree.

I credit me getting my job after graduation to the Student Success Center, especially the Career Coaches. They really-- I would just pop in their office and be like, "Hey, I have this email I need to send out. Can you review it for me?" They're very knowledgeable and everything that they do so I trust them with a lot of it. And again, I credit them to getting my job because of the work and effort that they put into it for me.
