The Accounting Department has an almost 100% job placement rate. And that's not just one job that's multiple offers that you can decide and really get your choice of what you want to do and not just having to settle for a job.
In terms of the curriculum, you're going to get a lot of exposure in areas like tax, audit, managerial accounting, financial accounting, things that will help prepare you not only for a career in accounting, but also later down the road. If you're thinking about getting your CPA or being becoming a Certified Management Accountant.
In the accounting department, there is tons of opportunity for scholarship and almost every student in the department received some type of scholarship or financial aid. And that's just a huge stress relief because it gives more time to focus on school and not to worry about working as many hours.
Here while you're at K State, you get the opportunity to be involved in a number of student organizations that can really help you develop your professional skills. The other thing that we offer are some trips, which gives you the opportunity to learn about business. As a freshman, you can join one of our CAT communities. We end that class with a trip to Washington DC, which is a great experience for our students to learn about the tax law, tax legislature, visit some really cool landmarks, and then just get to build a network in a community with other students and other professors.
And a lot of times the classes are smaller, and it's really nice that you get to meet people in your classes and create those connections with people that you may work with in the future. Creating those connections is just fun and rewarding part of school and work in general.
