We are very focused on making our students employable. So they have the skills employers want now, when they get out of college.
Our Management major encompasses several different tracks or majors that you can focus in. And we try to customize these in conversation with our advisory boards and the employers and the recruiters that we're talking to to make sure that when you graduate, you have the right content area knowledge and the skill set that you need to be successful in a given career field. For example, in Management, you can do a Supply Chain Major, you can engage in MIS (Management Information Systems), we have Entrepreneurship. And we also have a Management major in which you can either focus on the more macro organizational analysis level or the more micro "how do you manage people."
The university have a great opportunity to connect with alumni. They have Wildcat link, which is a program or app to connect with alumni and ask them about stuff like their current job and how this helped them for the long run. I am participate in mentorship program with HR professional, which has given me a lot of opportunities and teach me a lot about the career outside the university.
So one way that we can connect students with alumni is doing field trips or having the alumni come to organizations or to meetings to talk about organizations they work in. So we recently did a trip to Amazon in Kansas City to talk to some of the alumni from K State about their experiences within those organizations and what it was like after they graduated
