K-State’s Management Information Systems (MIS) major is designed for students who enjoy using technology to help solve business problems. A career in this area puts a person on the cutting edge of new technology and finds ways to translate newly acquired expertise into useful business solutions.
MIS students are well-rounded individuals, studying technical, people, and organizational skills in equal parts. Although they learn about programming, very few become programmers. Instead, they integrate leading software, data analytics, and hardware systems in ways that further organizational strategies.
Possible careers include:
· Network administrator
· Applications developer
· Systems analyst
